Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs, making it hard to breathe and fight infections. While each person with CF faces a unique journey, the disease often leads to severe complications and early death. I’m raising funds for the CF Foundation through running the Marine Corps Marathon to help change that reality—because despite progress, too many people still face a long, difficult road. We need a cure that enables everyone with CF to live a long, healthy life.
My personal connection to CF is through a close family friend. I grew up with her as my next-door neighbor and we often spent time together doing arts and crafts, working on school projects, or going to the beach in the summer when her health allowed it. Now in her 50s, she is fighting through the challenges and complications of a lung transplant. She will be on my mind for every step and every breath of this race.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
