Cystic fibrosis has helped make Sarah Grace a very strong young lady. She has fought through multiple admissions, several surgeries, and countless IVs in addition to the typical storms everyone has weathered in middle school. Of course, Sarah Grace has her weak moments, she is human after all. But she always inspires me by her determination and character, staying true to herself, no matter what life throws at her. There is no question that she has more to handle than most children and even most adults. She handles it all with strength, determination, maturity, and grace far beyond her age.

This year was confirmation for Sarah Grace‘s age group at church. She shared with peers, pastors, and elders the many ways in which her faith helps and guides her. As always, I am awed by her insight and maturity. Her faith has played a major role in making her the warrior princess she has become. She fights her personal battles but also stands up for others in their time of need. She thinks of friends and family members first and has learned how to best support the people she loves. She lives out her faith on a daily basis.

One of my favorite verses from 1 Corinthians begins “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.” As I write this year’s letter asking you to support us in our fight against cystic fibrosis, this verse comes to mind. Our faith will carry us through just as it has been a pillar for Sarah Grace. Because of you, our wonderful friends and family, we have hope for continued scientific discoveries to help her fight her battle and ultimately find a cure for this disease. This verse concludes with “But the greatest of these is love.” We have been blessed with love in abundance. We feel your love in the many ways in which you support us. We certainly love each other, and you cannot help but love our Sarah Grace. She is a gift without whom we simply cannot imagine life. We are so blessed to be a part of her cystic fibrosis journey and only hope to live up to the example of strength and determination she sets every day.

Once again year, I'm participating in Memphis Great Strides and I would greatly appreciate any amount you can contribute to meet my fundraising goal. Your generous gift will help accelerate the Foundation’s pursuit of new therapies and provide vital support to meet the needs of those with CF and end this terrible disease.Thank you on behalf of Sarah Grace, the mission of the CF Foundation, and Great Strides!
