Many of you know about my health journey with cystic fibrosis and my wonderful lung transplant in 2015. I have focused my volunteering efforts primarily to organ donation recently, but it’s time for me to return to championing to raise funds to change the definition of cf from cystic fibrosis to CURE FOUND.
There are still 40,000 Americans that suffer with the disease. Many have seen tremendous results from taking Trikafta, a ground breaking medication that has reduced the number of cf lung transplants significantly. This medication only helps those with a certain type of cf (my and my cousin’s type), but too many are still struggling to breathe. Let us not quit until those folks get the help they need and that they deserve.
I will be walking and speaking at the Nashville Great Strides Walk this Sunday, May 2 at Father Ryan High School. Please consider joining my team, Rai’s Rays of Hope, and doing some fundraising of your own. You can also come and walk with us—I will be showing off my incredible lung function so you won’t want to miss it! If neither of those options work you can make a donation of any amount, but regardless please pray that soon there will be no need to donate to cf research anymore. I appreciate each of you!
