We found out Miles had Cystic Fibrosis when he was about a week old and it was certainly a life altering call.
Cystic Fibrosis is a CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF can make it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Cystic Fibrosis affects each individual differently. We feel fortunate that at age 2, Miles qualified for Trikfata, a neuromodulator medication that works at the cellular level to treat the disease process and has responded tremendously to the medication. No all persons with CF are eligible for neuromodlator medications and we are fundraising to fuel research to change this. We want all persons with CF to have the opportunity to receive life changing medications and ultimately, we are fundraising for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
