🎗️💜 Join Team Matteo at this year's walk! 💜 🎗️ We would be so honored to have you walk alongside us at the annual walk hosted by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation raising money for research, better treatments, and one day, a cure. This year our team shirts are extra special. Because Matteo loves baseball more than anything, we’re wearing baseball jerseys. It just feels right — he’s our fighter in cleats. If you don’t already know, cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease Matteo was born with. It primarily affects the lungs and digestion. Most people’s bodies produce thin, slippery mucus that protects and clears their lungs. Matteo’s body makes mucus that is thick and sticky instead. That mucus becomes trapped in his lungs, making it harder to breathe and easier for infections to take hold. Matteo is also pancreatic insufficient due to CF, which means his pancreas doesn’t release the enzymes his body needs to break down and absorb Fats, proteins, and nutrients from food. Because of that, he has to take enzymes with every meal and snack just to help his body use the food he eats. Even gaining and maintaining weight takes extra work. Managing CF is a full-time job. Daily vest treatments. Nebulizers. Extra effort just to stay healthy. Everything takes more effort for him. But he shows up anyway. CF is part of his life — not his identity. He is a student. A teammate. A son. A warrior in cleats. That’s why we walk. If you’ve ever cheered for Matteo, prayed for him, or loved him in any way, we would be so grateful for you to join Team Matteo. Come wear a jersey. Come walk beside our mighty boy. 🎗️💜
