I was born with cystic fibrosis, and for my entire life, CF has been something I’ve had to manage, work around, and fight against.
 

There are days when keeping up with treatments, medications, appointments and simply taking care of myself feels overwhelming. But I also know how incredibly fortunate I am.
 

I have lived through a time of extraordinary progress in cystic fibrosis care. Medical advancements and new therapies have dramatically improved my quality of life and changed what I can imagine for my future. Things that once felt uncertain now feel possible.
 

That progress did not happen by accident. It happened because people donated, researchers kept pushing, families kept advocating, and the CF community refused to stop believing in a better future.
 

That is why I hike.
 

Each year, I take on the CF XTREME HIKE to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and to help ensure that progress continues for every person living with CF.
 

This year feels especially meaningful. Life has been incredibly busy, the hike arrived sooner than usual, and I am heading into it far less trained than I would like. I’m nervous. I know the miles will be hard. But I also know how powerful it is that I have the opportunity to stand at that starting line at all.
 

Every mile is a reminder of how far we have come — and how far we still have to go.
 

My goal is to raise $6,500 to support research, drug development, care and advocacy for people with cystic fibrosis.
