We have been participating in Great Strides since 2011 (minus the dreaded 2020). Berkeley is now 16 and thriving, and we have the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation to thank for much of that.

When Berkeley was 12, she started a new modular therapy drug called Trikafta—the "miracle" drug we had been waiting for since she was five years old. Thanks to advancements in science, Berkeley has been able to live a healthier, fuller life. But these breakthroughs don’t happen on their own—we rely on research to create life-changing treatments for those battling CF. The money we raise goes directly to the foundation, supporting these critical efforts.

The CF Foundation was started by a mother who wanted more for her children. Today, hundreds of parents, families, and friends continue her mission, working toward one ultimate goal: to end CF for all. While Trikafta has been life-changing for Berkeley, it isn’t a solution for every CF patient. Many still need access to better treatments, and vital programs still require funding. Our work isn’t done yet.

For now, I’m grateful to watch my beautiful, not-so-little girl grow up, bringing joy to everyone around her. I couldn’t imagine life without her. Help us continue our fight against this ugly disease.
