We are a family with two young children who are fortunate to be healthy and disease-free. While cystic fibrosis (CF) is not part of our personal medical journey, it has deeply touched our hearts through the stories of families and children who live with this devastating disease every day. That’s why our family and our team, the Hagardt Gang, walk in the Great Strides event — to stand beside those families, to show them they are not alone, and to affirm our belief that every child with CF deserves the chance to grow up, chase their dreams, and outlive their parents.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It makes it difficult to breathe and fight infections, often leading to severe lung damage and respiratory failure. Each person born with CF faces a unique and difficult journey. While groundbreaking progress has been made, too many people with CF still die far too young.

We’re walking to help change that reality. We walk for hope. We walk for a cure.
