CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Our Grandaughter has dealt with Cystic Fibrosis since birth. She has benefitted from the newest drug, Trikafta, since it has been available for the past 7 years and it has a had a dramatic positive effect on her lung health. Unfortunately the medications do not treat her significant GI issues and this has led to hospitalizations, many medications and almost daily pain and discomfort.
We hope every day for a a complete cure for CF. Not only for Abby but the 10% of the CF community who cannot take a medication like Trikafta.
