🍇Crushing miles for cystic fibrosis
Fundraising for Run Your Way
Stephanie Chavez
I’m running my first marathon, the Napa Marathon🍇, in honor of everyone living with cystic fibrosis (CF).
CF is a rare, life-shortening genetic disease that currently has no cure. Too many people with CF still lose their lives far too young. I’m taking on 26.2 miles to help change that.
Why This Matters
Advances in treatment have brought real hope, and people with CF are living longer and achieving things once thought impossible. All made possible by support from people like you!
Justin, for example, wasn’t expected to live past his teenage years. Today, he’s in his forties and still running.
But progress is not the finish line...
This year alone, we lost Jacob at 31 and Andy at 51.
Their loss is a heartbreaking reminder that we are not done.
What CF Does
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. It is progressive, meaning that it gets worse over time. Symptoms include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Blocked airways, causing lung damage
- Trapped bacteria, leading to frequent infections
- Digestion issues, affecting weight gain
- CF can lead to diabetes, liver disease, and osteoporosis
How You Can Help
Please consider donating any amount (need inspo, $26.20). Your support directly helps fuel science and research for drug development and treatments to help expand life expectancy.
Moves us closer to a CURE!
