Running to Cure CF

I've recently discovered a passion for running and I wanted to use that energy to raise money for a cause near to my heart: Cystic Fibrosis.

My wife, Lindsey, has CF. Every day for her is a challenge to navigate the medicines, therapies, and complications that come with having this genetic disease. Although there is no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, new research has developed CFTR modulator therapies to improve the lives of many with CF. Lindsey is fortunate enough to be on one of these modulators.

These modulators, while tremendous, can't undo the damage CF has already done to the lungs. Lindsey will continue to struggle to breathe and require antibiotics, IVs, and other interventions to stay at her lung function baseline.

It's hard to be a partner of someone with CF. I know that Lindsey will be taken from me and the kids too soon. It's scary to know the average life expectancy of a person with CF. We can't control CF, but we can control being the best parents, partners, and friends as we can.

So many of you have come to love the passion, snark, compassion, and kindness that Lindsey shows everyone. I feel helpless knowing that we only have a limited time together.

In September, I will run the Tree House Half Marathon in Deerfield, MA. I run to help raise money for Lindsey. For more days. For more of the best mom. For more everything. It's not just for us, though. It's for everyone with CF; I run for them all.

Please consider donating to my CF fundraiser run today. Every bit helps research for more tomorrows.
