On September 20th, we’ll be walking for someone very special to our family—our niece, Kyleigh.

Kyleigh has lived with cystic fibrosis her entire life. She is now 29, and her journey has included countless hospital stays and two double-lung transplants, the most recent in October 2024.

And yet, CF is only one part of Kyleigh’s story.

She has lived a big, beautiful, adventurous life—traveling the world, making memories, and showing all of us what courage and resilience look like. Today, she is still fighting her way back, one step at a time.

When Kyleigh was born, families facing CF were given a very different picture of the future. Her mom remembers reading that children with CF might live only into their teens or twenties. But research changed that story. Treatments improved. Genetic testing advanced. Transplant medicine advanced. And Kyleigh is here.

That is why this walk means so much to our family.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been beside Kyleigh and her family for nearly three decades—not only helping drive the research that has changed what is possible for people with CF, but supporting them through some of their hardest moments.

On September 20th, every step we take will be for Kyleigh. 💙

For her strength. For everything she has already overcome. For the life still ahead of her. And for every family waiting for the next breakthrough.

There is still no cure for cystic fibrosis, and the work isn’t finished.
