In Loving Memory of Uncle Matty
Fundraising for Santa Rosa Great Strides
Beth Kettel
My brother Matt, Maddie's uncle, was born with cystic fibrosis. CF is a rare, genetic disorder that affects the lungs and digestive system. It causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs, leading to breathing problems, lung infections, and reduced lung function over time. He fought this disease every single day with strength and courage.
Despite his resilience, CF ultimately took Matt from us far too soon. He won't get the chance to see Maddie grow up — to be the fun, loving uncle we know he would’ve been. Watching her grow without him by her side is a constant reminder of the urgency to fight this disease.
We’re raising money for cystic fibrosis research with the hope that one day, no child will have to suffer like Matt did. No family should have to say goodbye so early. Every dollar raised brings us closer to new treatments, and ultimately, a cure.
If you’re able, please consider donating in Matt’s memory. Let’s honor his life by helping to create a future where CF no longer means a life will be cut short.
Thank you for your support — it means the world to our family.
