My journey into the Cystic Fibrosis Community began with a simple yet extremely curious look at what exactly CF was... all the way back in college. As many topics were on the table for one of the largest research papers I ever completed ...my choice was Cystic Fibrosis. Having no connections, no prior knowledge of CF... I dove right in. The history of CF, the just raw cruelness of how it affects literally every single part of your body, the lack of Federal Funding, the rareness of it.... all pulled me in in a manor that was unexplainable. Once my research, paper, and presentation of CF had concluded - my real journey was just beginning.
Knowing what CF is - as in the textbook definition is one thing, but actually KNOWING what CF is didn't happen until 15 plus years later when I encountered a family that had not one but two children with CF. Meeting them, treating them, and following them still to this day - has opened my eyes, my heart, and my wallet to continue this journey...continue to raise awareness - funds - and as much love and hugs as one could muster!
I have met so many wonderful individuals carrying CF - suffering with CF and it is my goal - my business' goal - to not just talk the talk but walk the walk -or in this case - Hike the Hike.
Having hiked many trails for CF in the past...my journey hiking was put on hold the past 2 years after a nasty leg injury - my hiking today looks very different than it did prior to this injury, but I am grateful to back in a position to hike- share my story - and share the trail with others that are equally as passionate about giving of themselves and to others as I am.
I love to share more of my journey with CF and happy to do so. My request for anyone reading this is to please reach out to me, if you haven't already, and let's chat about CF - Let's chat about what we all can do to forward the research, the therapeutics, and help the individuals that live with the affects 24/7. My request is to open your wallet and support me on this specific Hike - this Hike is in my Mom's memory. She was a big supporter of my Xtreme Hikes in the past and although she is no longer with us in person... I will carry her not only in my heart but on the trail. I look forward to seeing your names on my donor board!

A few facts on CF:
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m hiking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.

By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
