My Xtreme Hike Story

Fundraising for South Carolina Xtreme Hike 2026
William McLendon
Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my CFF donation page!
I recently committed to help raise money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis by undertaking a 1-day, 30-mile hike the north Georgia and Upstate South Carolina mountains, which will occur in early October 2026. I don't have a personal connection to cystic fibrosis, but it is a cause that is near and dear to a friend, and I'm happy to be helping raise funds and awareness to find a cure. I also thought the extreme hike would be a demanding personal challenge that I could be proud of achieving. I plan to film the hike with a personal Go-Pro camera and will be sharing the experience/scenery with all donators!
Any amount you're able to contribute is greatly appreciated and will go toward funding research to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. If you know anyone else who'd be interested in donating, please point them this way!
Thanks in advance!

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m hiking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
