Our Great Strides Story

Fundraising for South Coast Great Strides 2026
Jennifer and Timothy Webber
Timothy and I plan to walk in South Coast's Great Strides again this year. It's great to join my sister and her husband (Rebecca and Keith) at a site they've walked at all these years in honor of Theresa and Caroline.
Theresa and Caroline are both doing well. They are each on different paths in graduate school - one in social work, the other in environmental science. We are so thrilled and happy for them to be able to be living their lives as they are.
Recently, we were invited to an event to honor the girls' pediatric pulmonologist who cared for them for a collective twenty years. She is retired now, but an endowed lecture series will continue at UNC in her honor. The invitation prompted me to look for a medical piece of information, so I found the binders with the paper records and took a longer than expected walk down memory lane.
And I realized - how instrumental the CF Foundation was - and is - to funding research to improve the lives of those with CF. The girls are living healthier lives because of the modulator they take. But not all those with CF can take the modulators; there are those with CF who continue to struggle with every "cold" that comes along and often leads to something worse. We were there for may years, and it all came back looking through at the files.
We are walking to help those who can't take the modulators. And, we are walking for a CURE - the modulators are not a cure!
Please consider donating to help us. Any contribution will help make a difference. Thank you so much.
