I’m participating in the Cystic Fibrosis Stair Climb because this cause is deeply personal to me—my daughter, Maggie Thompson, has lived with Cystic Fibrosis for all 19 years of her life. Throughout that time, she has shown incredible strength, grace, and resilience in the face of a challenging and unpredictable disease. Maggie receives care from a dedicated and collaborative team at Seattle Children’s Hospital, where she undergoes quarterly visits, tests, and lab draws to monitor the health of her lungs, kidneys, liver, and pancreas.
Maggie is currently benefiting from a groundbreaking CFTR modulator drug called Trikafta, which has dramatically improved her health and quality of life. It’s a miracle for many, but not a solution for all—some individuals with Cystic Fibrosis still do not qualify for this medication, and the fight for a full cure is far from over. That’s why we continue to climb! Our team, Maggie’s Marchers, has participated in this event for over 15 years, and 90% of every dollar raised goes directly toward research and the development of new therapies. Your kindness and generosity means the world to us and help fuel the hope we carry into each and every day! Thank you for climbing with us through the years on this shared journey of hope.
Love,
Megan
