M's for a Cure - 2026 Stair Climb @ T-Mobile Park
Fundraising for Seattle CF Climb 2026
M's for a Cure
Nearly 40,000 people in the US are diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease which causes issues with nearly every organ, mainly impacting breathing and digestion. Until recently this disease was viewed as a terminal childhood illness. Now, after decades of fundraising and research, gene-modulating therapies allow many CF patients, like myself, to live healthy lives with limited impacts from treatments. Still, around 20% of patients with more rare genetic mutations cannot be treated with the current generation of modulator drugs.
My name is Evan Waara and I am a part of the community relations department here with the Seattle Mariners and I have cystic fibrosis. Please join me on September 16th at 5 PM at our home field, T-Mobile Park, for the CF Foundation Stair Climb to help raise money towards a cure for CF! This event promises to be a fun-filled day where you can help advance the care and research needed to cure cystic fibrosis. By climbing with us, you’ll enjoy not only the natural camaraderie (yes, lots of laughter!), but the important impact we are making together.
While the CF Foundation has made incredible progress, not everyone with CF can benefit from existing therapies and we still need a cure. This will require time, funding, and persistence – but with you on our team – we are ready to go the distance.
Our team is committed to providing every person with CF the opportunity to live a long, healthy life. Will you join us?
Sign-up to climb with a donation of $65, or if you can't make it feel free to contribute with a custom donation!
