Dear Max Power Supporters,
May is officially recognized as Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Awareness Month; a month dedicated to raising awareness about CF, a genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the CF community use this time to educate others, share personal stories, and advocate for finding a cure.
Our family has been in the fight against CF for almost 23 years. In this time, we have experienced many medical miracles, thanks to the support of our family and friends who have joined us in the battle to find a cure for this life-threatening disease. The advancements in therapies funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation have made life changing improvements in the health of our two sons, Max and Westley.
While medical advancements developed by the CF Foundation have made living with cystic fibrosis much easier for our boys, many patients still lose the battle with CF. Historically, children with CF died as infants, and as recently as 1980 the median age of survival was below 20 years. Today over half of the CF population is over 18, and many are living into their 50s and beyond.
We’re going in the right direction, but we won't stop fighting until CF stands for “Cure Found!” Please help us reach that goal with your donation today.
With love and gratitude,
The Hambrecht Family
