My Great Strides Story

Hi Everyone --
This year I've decided to lead the OU-Tulsa Pediatrics team for the annual Great Strides event hosted by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF).
My first time joining one of these events was in 9th grade to support a friend with CF. At the time I didn't know much about CF other than it made my friend very sick. All these years later, I work closely with members of the Tulsa CF Center to study this disease in the hopes that one day there will be a cure.
The CFF provides critical funding for research and clinical services related to CF. Their funding and work have directly led to emerging medications that have changed the face of CF, including doubling the median life expectancy in the last 30 years. Despite this work still remains to improve the lives and health of individuals living with CF.
The mission of the CFF has directly benefited medical students, and residents at the OU School of Community Medicine. This has included grant funding for multiple learners and access to robust medical data through their CF Patient Registry, a database of crucial clinical data for individuals receiving care at CFF-accredited clinics.
