Our Great Strides Story
Katharine Courson
Fundraising for Valdosta Great Strides 2026
Katharine Courson
We started walking in 2001 after our daughter was diagnosed in 2000. A group of wonderful friends made the Valdosta Great Strides walk a reality in our community. We are forever thankful. ❤️
Many people with cystic fibrosis are doing exceptionally well due to the medical advancements over the years. However, there are still many with daily challenges and setbacks. I continue walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you consider making a donation, walking and/or supporting in prayer?
I truly believe that CF will one day stand for Cure Found.
