I got another 36 Miles closer to the 650 today, riding around the ‘burg. Making progress.

My CF Cycle for Life Story

Fundraising for Virginia CF Cycle for Life 2026
Zach Watson
Once again I’m participating in the Cycle For Life ride this year, in loving memory of Audrey Kay. This year the ride has returned to a virtual format, where a mileage goal is the focus. I and other VA participants will have a gathering to celebrate our efforts on October 21st. Between now and then the idea is to ride the same 650 miles I reached when it was last virtual in 2021, and I hope you can help in reaching my fundraising goal.
These funds will help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with vital research to improve the lives of those fighting CF and one day finding a cure. Donations have funded research leading to breakthroughs like Trikafta, a triple combination therapy that helps the majority of CF patients maintain lung function and bring more tomorrows to them and their families, friends and loved ones. Other treatments are being developed for those with specific mutations that can broaden the reach of those available to receive treatment. The CFF has said the average life span (with the help of treatments like Trikafta and others) of a CFer born between 2020 and 2024 has climbed to age 65, so progress is continuing, but the ultimate goal is a cure.
Your gift is completely tax deductible. Thank you to those who have donated in the past and for those contributing this year.
More information about CF below:
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
