My Great Strides Story
Paige McCormack
Fundraising for West Haven Great Strides 2026
Paige McCormack
My beautiful daughter, Paige, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) at just two weeks old through newborn screening. I was already the mother of a healthy two-year-old, and my pregnancy with Paige had been completely normal. There were no signs, no family history, and no indication that my husband and I were CF carriers. To say the diagnosis shocked us and turned our world upside down is an understatement.
Over the past four years, we have learned how to navigate a new normal—daily treatments, countless medications, constant handwashing, and an ever-present need to sanitize. Almost overnight, we became CF experts, working closely with Paige’s CF care team to ensure she receives the very best care possible.
Paige began Orkambi at just one year old, and at age two she started Trikafta—a truly life-changing modulator. Because of advances like these, we are blessed with the happiest little girl, whose strength and resilience amaze us every day. Paige is a fighter in every sense of the word.
For the past three years—now entering our fourth—we have proudly walked together as a family in the West Haven Great Strides, surrounded by an incredible community of relatives, friends, and supporters.Paige is incredibly kind, always thinking of others, and loves looking up to her big sister. Paige enjoys dancing, singing, soccer, T-ball, ice skating, and swimming.
