My Great Strides Story

Before December 3, 2019, I had only ever heard of Cystic Fibrosis in my high school biology class. On Emily's diagnosis day, I had no idea what this diagnosis would mean for her life. As Emily grows, I know more and more. We do daily treatments, she takes digestive enzymes with every meal, we add medications as needed, and we are especially careful about germ control. We are lucky that there are many recent advancements for people with CF, and those advancements are largely due to the work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
In addition to funding the CF care clinics that people with CF rely on for their care, the CFF funds research and development of new treatments that have directly impacted Emily. Emily has now been on Trikafta for almost 2 years. This medication helps her body at the cellular level, and the benefits we've seen have been truly life-changing for her. We've been able, for the first time in her life, to reduce dosage of other medications and simplify her routine. This miracle drug and others like it gives us and others in the CF community so much hope; however, this type of medication is not available for all people with CF.
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We've come so far, but there's still so much work to do. I will not stop striding until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. With your help, we can invest our resources in research today, while raising funds for tomorrow, to ensure we have what it takes to reach the finish line. Together, we can make CF stand for Cure Found. Please help me reach my fundraising goal!
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
