My Great Strides Story

Fundraising for West Suburban Great Strides 2026

After a one year hiatus last year (as Antti was just a few weeks old) Inga and I are SO excited to be participating in Great Strides again. And this time, Emil gets to join the fun!
We got involved in this cause a few years ago because Inga's friend Emily was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth. Emily the daughter of my childhood friend, Laura, and we bonded during Covid when we realized our daughters were just a few weeks apart. Ever since our involvement with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation we have been AMAZED by how much this incredible organization does. Even since meeting Emily, we have witnessed the advancements in research and treatments-- all directly impacting Emily and her family's quality of life. Emily is happy, healthy, active, busy, joyful child because of the work the CFF does and the way her family supports and partners with the organization. We are truly CFF Super Fans!
We are walking to make sure these advancements continue!
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
