Walk with our team to Cure Cystic Fibrosis
Thermo Fisher Scientific
Fundraising for Wilmington Great Strides 2026
Thermo Fisher Scientific
We’re Ray and Rebecca Poole, and we’d love for you to join us in supporting the fight against cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis has been a central part of our lives. Rebecca has faced it with incredible strength, including a double lung transplant (her 1 year Lungiversary photo is shown above) and ongoing treatment. Today, therapies like Alftrek, are making a meaningful difference in her health and quality of life and new studies are qualifying it for wider portions of the CF community —progress that gives us real hope for the future.
Ray is proud to be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global company, and to work alongside colleagues across the organization, including the team at the Cincinnati site. The work happening in Cincinnati—manufacturing CFTR modulators—directly supports patients like Rebecca by helping prevent lung infections and reduce the risk of complications, including transplant rejection. It’s incredibly meaningful for us to see how this work makes a real difference in people’s lives.
That’s why we’re walking in the Wilmington Great Strides event on Saturday, May 2. This is more than just an event for us—it’s a way to raise awareness, support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and stand alongside everyone impacted by this disease.
We walk for Rebecca.
We walk for families like ours.
We walk for a future where everyone with CF can live a long, healthy life.
This event is filled with community, hope, and purpose—and we would truly appreciate your support, whether by joining us or making a donation.
While there has been incredible progress, not everyone with CF can benefit from current therapies. Continued research, funding, and advocacy are essential to finding a cure.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
