Great Strides 2026!!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and unfortunately there are still many who have not or will not see a cure for CF. We are walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.

So much has changed since that very first walk for us. Life expectancy was in the 30s and now into their 50s and 60s because of the newer drugs and treatments!! Never a good time for your child to be born with a genetic disease but we were lucky to be in the moment of these new modulators being in the pipeline that would benefit Jozie and others with CF! There is so much more progress needed to help ALL those with CF. There are unfortunately mutations of CF that the treatments do not benefit or those who can not tolerate these treatments.
These drugs/medications and treatments are truly a possibility because of YOUR support through donations with Team Jozie!! Jozie and those with CF do have to put in a lot of work with multiple daily breathing treatments, airway clearance and lots of pills. There has been new medicine and treatments introduced into Jozie's routine because research has made advancements and continue to do so because of your support to the CF Foundation.
