Thank you so much to the US Charitable Gift Fund for supporting my and my daughters’ walk to the tune of $10,000! It’s such a great cause!

My Xtreme Hike Story
Amy Saltonstall
Fundraising for 15th Annual Xtreme Hike Massachusetts 2026
Amy Saltonstall
Twenty four years ago my godson, James, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, and so began his amazing journey with this disease. There is currently no cure, but incredible research has resulted in massive improvements in treatment, longevity, and quality of life for people born with CF. My friend, Sarah, has been living with CF for well over 50 years, and her strength and positivity through years of challenges and treatment are inspirational. There are so many other people and families fighting bravely every day. There is still work to be done. Too many people with CF die young. I’m hiking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Will you help end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for James, Sarah, and everyone with CF.
