When I was 10, I watched my dad complete his first Extreme Hike for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I didn’t fully understand it then. I just that it looked hard and meaningful, and that it mattered. I told myself I’d do it one day too.
Now I’m 18, and I’m doing the hike with him. We’ve trained together, step for step. And I’m not doing this just because of my dad anymore. I’ve met people who work with the Foundation, and others who actually live with cystic fibrosis. They’re not just stories. They’re my friends. And this hike isn’t just a goal anymore. It’s something I’m doing for them.
There’s still no cure for CF, and too many people living with it die young. It’s a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. It makes it hard to breathe, hard to eat, and hard to fight off infections. Everyone with CF experiences it differently, but they all deserve the same thing: the chance to live a full, healthy life.
By donating to my hike, you’ll help fund critical research, support families, and bring us closer to a cure. Every step I take is for the people still waiting for answers, and for the belief that we can get there.
Thank you for supporting me and this cause I care deeply about.
