My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Fort Worth Great Strides 2026
Georgena Dalley
Keaton was born with cystic fibrosis, and from the very beginning our lives were filled with challenges, uncertainty, and strength we didn’t know we had.
His childhood was spent riding the waves of this disease — good days mixed with very hard ones. There were countless doctor visits, treatments, medications, and long hospital stays. Sometimes he would spend a month or more in the hospital at a time, often in contact isolation, separated from normal childhood experiences most people take for granted.
As his mother, I became hyper-vigilant about his care. Every cough, fever, or change mattered. Life revolved around breathing treatments, medications, clinic appointments, and protecting his health while still trying to give him as normal and joyful of a childhood as possible. It was exhausting and heartbreaking at times, but also filled with resilience, love, and hope.
Today, Keaton is a grown man, and I could not be prouder of the person he has become. Despite everything CF has thrown at him, he has built a life around the things he loves. He is passionate about MMA, music, and playing guitar. He is strong, determined, and continues to push forward in ways that inspire me every day.
Cystic fibrosis never just affects one person — it affects entire families. Our journey has taught us perseverance, gratitude, and the importance of research, support, and community. Because of advancements made through fundraising and awareness, people with CF are living longer and fuller lives than ever before.
We walk and raise funds not only for Keaton, but for every person and family facing cystic fibrosis. We walk for more treatments, more breakthroughs, and one day, a cure.
Thank you for supporting our team and being part of this journey with us.
