My CF Cycle for Life Story
Fundraising for 28th Annual Massachusetts CF Cycle for Life
Julia McCarthy
Hi! We are a group of friends and family who were blessed to be a part of Haylee’s story.
Haylee was a beautiful soul. Her personality resembled the sunshine, always warming any room she walked into with her smile, kindness, and ability to make anyone feel loved.
What wasn’t always apparent was that Haylee was fighting a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis. In the past four years, she spent much of her time inpatient at Mass General Hospital. She developed CF-related liver disease, which caused her liver to fail completely. In September 2023, she received a liver transplant. After transplant, she had a short few months of normalcy before CF attacked her new liver as well. Haylee fought a resilient, endless battle for almost two years.
In August 2025, just one day after turning 28, Haylee peacefully passed away. This, however, is far from the end of her story.
My name is Julia, and I am honored to ride with “Haylee’s Legacy,” a team dedicated to sharing her story and continuing her fight.
We are fundraising to support ongoing CF research and treatments, with the hope of finding a cure so that no other CF patient has to endure what Haylee did. I know, if Haylee were here today, she would be leading this fight herself. It is our job to ensure her light and values live on.
Please consider donating to our team and helping us carry on Haylee’s legacy. 💙
