My Great Strides Story

Fundraising for Milwaukee Great Strides 2026

My kids and Bobby and I walk for our “baby girl” niece and “big boy” nephew, they are cousins both diagnosed as newborns with CF. We have definitely witnessed the daily challenges and know the possibilities of future challenges that both children individually will face and also us a family will be faced with. With that being said, we have also witnessed the strength and resilience of not only these special children but their parents as well. Life is full of challenges and watching our family navigate and support each other through this is quite incredible. We are truly filled with hope each year when we do this walk and start our fundraising. This community is constantly changing, improving and encouraging those living with CF and those of us who stand beside them. Please consider donating. It’s so important to our family but also to this amazing community and foundation!!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
