There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF still die too young. This year has been rough. In February, I lost a dear friend, 37 year-old Anna Payne. We connected over CF, a passion for politics, and her deep love of The Rock (ok, that I did not share). On Mother's Day, fellow Dr. Walker patient, Katy Stark-Monte passed away a week after turning 40. She was a nurse, a mother, a two time lung transplant and one time kidney transplant recipient. My heart breaks for their families.
There has been amazing progress in the trajectory of Cystic Fibrosis but the reality is, there is a LONG way to go. I’m walking to help change that reality. https://fundraise.cff.org/NYC2025/mshiffman
