My Xtreme Hike Story
Fundraising for Palo Duro Canyon Xtreme Hike 2026
Domingos Dafonte
This year I’m hiking 19 miles through Palo Duro Canyon to support cystic fibrosis research.
I’m doing it for someone who means a lot to me, my friends Ray and Rebecca.
In the past decade alone, Becca has undergone both a double lung transplant and a kidney transplant. And she keeps showing up with strength, humility, and an unbelievable will to live.
I’ve known her since our UConn days, and watching her journey has changed how I see resilience.
This hike is my way of showing up for her, and for everyone fighting this disease.
👉 If you’re able, please consider donating. Any amount helps fund research and brings us closer to a cure.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs and other vital organs. There is still no cure, and too many families are forced to fight this every day.
This hike will be a challenge, but it won’t come close to what Becca and others living with CF endure.
If you want to help move this forward, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
Thank you,
Dom
