Palo Duro Canyon Xtreme Hike 2026
The Palo Duro Canyon Xtreme Hike challenges each participant to achieve personal and philanthropic milestones in honor of those living with cystic fibrosis.
Beyond the physical effort, hikers commit to raising a minimum of $3,000 in support of their participation. Every dollar raised helps advance our mission to support people with CF and move closer to a cure.
Included in Your Xtreme Hike Experience
- Hotel accommodations for the weekend (2 nights)
- Comprehensive hiker packet with training schedule, fundraising tips, gear list, and FAQs
- Xtreme Hike trail guides to ensure safety along the route
- Transportation to and from the trailhead on hike day, as well as to all group activities
- Five fully stocked & supported aid stations (every 3–5 miles)
- Finisher medals
- Xtreme Hike swag & fundraising incentives
- Dinner on Friday evening before the hike
- Grab-and-go breakfast on hike morning
- Finish line meal & celebration
- Hike awards & breakfast on Sunday morning

To have the best experience possible, we ask each hiker to prepare physically and commit to raising the $3,000 fundraising minimum or more in support of the cause. Every dollar raised supports our mission to provide children and adults with cystic fibrosis a better chance at living a long, healthy life.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23
4:00 PM - Hotel Check-in & Hiker Registration
6:00 PM - Leave Hotel for Inspiration Dinner at Bar Z Winery
7:00 PM - Safety Briefing & Mission Moment Presentation
8:00 PM - Return to Hotel
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 - HIKE DAY
4:30 AM - Meet in Lobby
4:45 AM - Grab-n-Go Breakfast
5:00 AM - Departure
5:30 AM - Team Photos/Group Photo
6:00 AM - Hikers Take Off!
2:00 PM to 6:00 PM - Finish Line Celebration & Cookout (Shuttle available back to hotel once finished eating)
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM - Victory Celebration & Awards Breakfast
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Depart home

Distance: 20 Miles (full route) – shorter options available
Elevation Gain: 1833 ft
(5) Fully Stocked & Supported Aid Stations
After mile 10, all participants can get a ride from any of our remaining aid stations, if they are unable to complete the full 20-mile route
Terrain: Varies greatly from smooth, rolling dirt trails to rugged, rocky climbs. Great for every level of hiker!
Weather Averages for late October: High 75 / Low 35. Feels about 10 to 15 degrees hotter when down in the Canyon.
