Fischer is a freshman and has transitioned well into high school. He found a youth group that he enjoys with the bonus of playing basketball games afterward. Despite the disapproval from certain family members, he remains a fan of the Minnesota Twins, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Vikings. This last summer, he worked at a country club helping his swing coach give youth golf lessons. Fischer doesn't openly share golf advice, but he is a great instructor. Fischer continues to excel in golf and loves to play basketball. Despite being the smallest athlete on the course or court, I am always in awe of the confidence, focus and discipline he displays. I often wonder if this positive result stems from the dedication and time he invests in his health by doing his daily vest and albuterol treatments twice a day. I pray his discipline makes him a cystic fibrosis champion.
This month, Team Fischer was honored with the Great Strides Longtimer Champion Award, and Fischer’s aunt, Jenn Templeton, received the Corks & Kegs Outreach Award. These honors reflect the strength of the community surrounding us. We are so grateful for you all!
