Steamboat Xtreme Hike 2026

How far would you go for a cure? Get ready to go the distance and join us for the Steamboat Xtreme Hike to find a cure for cystic fibrosis! Your support helps the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fund the research and care needed to help advance a cure for this disease. While we've made significant progress, we still have a long way to go.

About the Steamboat Xtreme Hike
Join us in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a weekend like no other! Hikers will take on the challenge of hiking up to 20 miles on Steamboat Mountain's well-maintained trails, while enjoying breathtaking views. With access to the resort's gondola, hikers can "choose their own adventure" on the many trails and loops available. The elevation of the Colorado Rockies provides a unique and serious challenge for this event, with a starting elevation of almost 7,000 feet and reaching over 10,000 feet at the summit.

The Hike Weekend Experience

Hikers will enjoy accommodations for two nights (Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19) at the Steamboat Grand at the base area. This 3-day experience also includes a welcome dinner on Friday evening, a grab-and-go breakfast before the hike on Saturday, snacks at the rest stops, a post-hike happy hour and dinner, and a celebration breakfast Sunday morning.

Get Ready to Hike

Register: Sign yourself up today to secure your spot and recruit your friends and family to join your team. Together, we can make a bigger impact.

Fundraise: To participate in the weekend, hikers are asked to meet a fundraising minimum based on their lodging needs. Hikers who require hotel accommodations (two nights, double occupancy) must raise at least $2,500. Hikers who do not need hotel accommodations are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000.
To reach your goal, share why you're hiking with your network through emails, letters, and social media, and invite them to support your efforts. CF Foundation staff are available to help every step of the way, including sharing tips on passion fundraising, employer matching gift opportunities, and other resources to help you succeed.

Train: Registered participants will receive a 3-month suggested training schedule to prepare for the physical challenge of hiking Steamboat Mountain on September 19.
The 2026 Steamboat Xtreme Hike is limited to just 40 people. Sign up to secure your spot!
