When a close family member of mine was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, I asked their mom what I could do to help from a few states away. She told me I could help by supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. So, in 2024, I participated in the Vail Xtreme Hike. I went alone, knew no one, and honestly had no idea what I was getting in to.
What I found when I got there was the most incredibly strong and welcoming community of fighters committed to improving the lives of those who have been affected by a CF diagnosis. Not just by raising money for research, but also supporting others through friendship, understanding, and shared experiences. Today, my family member with CF is thriving, and I know it’s in part because of the work of CFF. And it’s in part because of particular people on the hike’s willingness to participate in trials that now benefit my family member today.
When asked if I’d join Steamboat Xtreme Hike 2026, it was an immediate “absolutely!” I can’t wait to be a part of this fundraising event again. By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
