Matt Wright

Meet Matt Wright. Matt grew up with Cystic Fibrosis and had a normal childhood. Filled with lots of gymnastics, school and friends. Nothing could stop Matt from living life to its fullest despite having Cystic Fibrosis.

Living with Cystic Fibrosis included lots of visits and many doctors appointments. Anything between the CF doctors and team, ENT. This also included hour long breathing treatments twice a day to proper nutrition and lot of physical activity to keep the lungs clear of the thick sticky mucus. By preventing infections with activity and adherence to medications and breathing treatments. As Matt grew up, this regimen kept him pretty healthy and out of the hospital.

As the Cystic Fibrosis disease started progressing his regimen wasn't enough anymore. Now requiring frequent hospital admissions last two weeks or more. Matt still continued with gymnastics despite the frequent hospitalizations and frequent doctors appointments. None of these life challenges would ever stop or slow down Matt from being a normal, active child.

Fast forward to around the 2000's, Matt had overcome being listed on a transplant by exercising and eventfully competed in powerlifting. Life was great for Matt and his active lifestyle and only being admitted to the hospital 3-4 times a year

Matt met the love of his life, Marilyn. They became college sweethearts. Matt got his bachelors degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Business Information System and a minor in Cyber Security. Soon after that, Marilyn graduated and they soon got married. Fast forward some years Matt and Marilyn welcomed their first born, Faith. Not long after Faith was born Matt's health turned for the worst. Matt ended up on the transplant list for new lungs.  When Faith was 4 months old Matt had his double lung transplant. Fast forward to today, Matt is a happy and healthy husband and dad of two wonderful kids. Matt enjoys spending time with his two kids, Faith and John Luke and his lovely wife Marilyn.
