My Great Strides Story

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Too many people with CF have died too young. CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
I’m walking for Colin Fenner and 30,000+ others with CF. The advancements in treatment made only because of your gifts have been life changing for many like Colin.
Colin was diagnosed with CF in 1999 when 4 years old. His parents, my dear friends John and Claire, took a leap of faith from despair to name our team "Hopefulones". This year marks my 27th year raising funds for CF Foundation, and we remain "Hopeful" with help like yours. Those gifts have funded development of drugs like Trikafta which targets the defective protein that underlies CF. The advances made have been remarkable, helping Colin and others maintain vigorous health.
Trikafta is not a cure for CF, however, and does not work for everyone. That's why we continue to stride and raise money for ongoing research and the new challenges of CF care for adults. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
By donating, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF. Any donation, in any amount, is that much closer to a cure, and so very much appreciated!
