My Great Strides Story
Kathy Stark
Fundraising for Boston Great Strides 2026
Kathy Stark
Dear Family and Friends,
It has been a busy spring, and we are running behind in our preparations for this year’s Great Strides – but my family and I -- Gus's Gang -- are still planning to walk in Boston Sunday, May 17, to raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF), the disease that impacts my nephew and godson, Gus Giblin.
I am asking for your support again this year, knowing that many people are navigating challenging economic times. Every donation, in any amount, is appreciated.
There is still no cure for this dreadful disease, and too many people with CF die young...but tremendous progress has been made in recent years. The life-saving drugs and treatments spearheaded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are the direct result of contributions made by dedicated supporters like you. It is not an exaggeration to say that Gus, now 27, is alive – and feeling healthy! – because of your generosity over many years. This was inconceivable just 24 years ago, when Gus was first diagnosed.
With just three weeks to go, our team goal this year is $15,000. If you can, please contribute today to Gus’s Gang to help us reach that goal.
Please donate here, or you may send a check, made payable to the "CFF Foundation," to me at 5 Bartlett Road, Middletown, RI 02842. My Venmo is: @Katherine-Stark-10.
I am driven by the vision that, one day soon, the cure for CF will be found, and Gus and many others like him will be able to enjoy long, healthy lives. Thank you for playing a vital part in making that vision a reality. Your support means the world to our family – and Gus.
Thank you!
With love and gratitude,
Kathy and Gus’s Gang
