Hello! My name is Hannah, and I'm walking to cure Cystitic Fibrosis. The 419-ers team leader, Autumn Cabral, is one of my close friends. She lost her dad, Joseph, to CF when she was 10. Despite his passing, he continues to remain a daily presence in Autumn's life, and I get the honor to learn about the incredible dad and person he was through her. This year, we will walk to honor his memory and to raise money to support those who continue to live with this condition.
Even before meeting Autumn when we were in college, CF has held particular significance to me. In my teenage years, I'd learned about CF from the late Claire Wineland and was inspired. Her story, her passion, her resilience, and the love with which she talked about her medical team, I believe, is part of the reason I eventually went into nursing.
Now working as a nurse, I get to see how organizations like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation help real people every single day. By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
