This summer, I have the great honor of running the 50th Grandma's Marathon in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a cause that is deeply personal to me. My close friend Max lives with CF, and I've seen firsthand what research funding can do. Thanks to donor support and years of dedicated research, breakthrough treatments like Trikafta have transformed Max's life. In 2024, I had the pleasure of joining Max's fundraising campaign as he did something that once seemed unimaginable - running Grandma's Marathon and raising tens of thousands of dollars in support of a disease that he himself, and so many others, face every day.
While Max won't be joining me at the starting line in Duluth this year as he's busy training for the Chicago Marathon this fall, his third marathon no less, I have the honor of carrying the torch and running in support of the CF Foundation.
Max's story is proof that every dollar that goes toward CF research helps develop treatments that give people longer, fuller, more adventurous lives. But the fight isn't over - there are still thousands of people with CF waiting for their breakthrough. Please consider donating to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation so that stories like Max's become the expectation, not the exception.
