Grandma's Half-Marathon - Round 2!
Last year, I broke a long held belief that even on Alyftrek, running a half marathon wasn't in the cards for me. And for once in my life, I was happy to be wrong! (though my creaky knees have a few opinions about it)
With permanent damage from 38 years of Cystic Fibrosis, I ran (and walked) my first half marathon in my hometown next to my favorite lake being cheered by the people I love most. Not only did we raise over $4,000 for the CF Foundation, but my lung capacity increased - even with a lot of scar tissue, my insulin dependence decreased, and I hit my healthiest point in over 12 years!
And I'm back at it again, running and fundraising to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Because, let's be serious, why else would you want to run 13.1 miles?!
I'm hoping to beat last year's total to raise $5,000! Your donation goes to life saving therapies and cure research for Cystic Fibrosis. Every dollar oils my knees, puts air in my (CF) lungs, and warms my heart while fighting for a CF-free future!
Thank you all and love you lots!
