My Great Strides Story
Debra Williams
Fundraising for Fort Wayne Great Strides
Debra Williams
Dear Family and Friends:
The Great Strides Walk is here again! We appreciate your support so much. Our Fort Wayne Walk will be on Sunday, May 18. We hope we will have good weather and know we will have a great time.
A little update on the boys…..Jackson is 14 years old, an eighth grader at Montgomery Jr. High School. He excels in academics and loves to play football, basketball, and golf. He is such a wonderful big brother to Lincoln. He has so much patience with him and loves to interact with him. He is also a great big brother to Brock, but Brock may have a different opinion…. typical brothers!!
Lincoln is 8 years old and is in third grade. He loves school although he might say he doesn’t. However, when he was sick recently, he was determined that he was going to school because his teacher missed him! He is active and willing to try anything. He tries to keep up with the “big boys” in everything. He is also their most vocal cheerleader!
The boys have been blessed to work with an outstanding doctor at the Houston Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. They have visits there every 3 months. Since both have been on a new drug Trikafta, they have been healthier and stronger. When Lincoln is exposed to flu or cold germs, his symptoms seem to be more pronounced, but neither boy has had to be hospitalized since Lincoln was a baby. Such a blessing. Their physical activity as well as all their medications help them to stay well.
We are so fortunate to have the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to advocate for them. The Foundation’s dedication to research has made the difference in finding a cure for CF. Since we do not know what will happen in the current government situation, the dollars we raise for research and support are more important than ever.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
By donating to this fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
Again, thank you for your unwavering support. Please continue to pray that a cure can be found! Any donation can help us to continue this fight.
