Cystic fibrosis is part of our everyday life. My son, Wayland, has CF and he’s one of the toughest, happiest kids out there.

CF is a genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas and other organs. It means extra treatments, extra meds and more planning than most families deal with, but it also means celebrating a lot of wins that wouldn’t be possible without research.

Because of CF research and fundraising like Great Strides, Wayland has access to medications that have truly changed his life. Those breakthroughs didn’t exist years ago and they prove what’s possible when science keeps moving forward.

Every person with CF is different and there’s still more work to do so everyone can benefit from these advances. That’s why we walk.

We’re walking for Wayland, for other families on this journey and for a future where CF is something kids grow up with, not something that defines or limits them.
