Our team walks in honor of Barbara Duggan, Cricket,  whose life was a powerful example of courage, love, and resilience. When she was diagnosed with CF, her life expectancy was just 16 years. Thanks to decades of research, therapies, and new medications, she went on to live to 64 — raising four children and building a life full of love, laughter, and purpose.

She had an incredible sense of humor, a generous spirit, and a creative heart. Family was everything to her, and she devoted her time not only to them but also to helping others in the CF community — offering hope and supporting parents of newly diagnosed patients and speaking to groups of new medical students to share the patient’s perspective of living with CF. 

Despite countless appointments, hospitalizations, infections, and difficult days, she lived as fully and actively as she could, being present for every soccer match, cheer competition, and dance recital- all while fighting her disease with grace, strength, and humor until the very end.

Her life is a shining reminder of what progress in CF research can make possible — and why the fight must continue. We walk in her memory and her honor, and to help create a future where everyone with CF can live long, full lives.
