For Tiffany Fischer - So 35 Isn’t the End of the Story
Fundraising for Louisville Great Strides 2026
Scott Fischer
Tiffany didn’t need more strength, she needed more time.
Cystic fibrosis took that from her at 35. I’m walking to help make sure it doesn’t keep taking it from others.
Tiffany Fischer was born on September 6, 1983. She lived 35 years but she lived them in a way most people don’t. She was caring and loving, the kind of person who was always looking to help those around her, whether it was family, friends, or other people with CF.
Cystic fibrosis was part of her life every single day. It’s a genetic, life shortening disease that attacks the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It makes something as basic as breathing a fight and brings constant risk of serious infections.
But if you knew Tiffany, you know CF wasn’t what you saw first. You saw her. Tiffany’s energy and presence filled the room as she walked into it. Even on the hard days, she found a way to keep going and somehow made the people around her stronger too.
On February 18, 2019, CF took her from this world.
The reality is, too many people with CF still die young. While there has been real progress with better treatments and longer life expectancy, the job isn’t finished. Not everyone benefits from the breakthroughs yet. Not everyone gets the extra years.
I walk because research is working. I walk because science is pushing forward. And I walk because a cure is no longer just an idea, it’s something we can actually reach if we keep going.
Every donation helps fund that progress. It supports the research, the treatments, and the hope that one day, no one will have to go through what Tiffany did or what we did.
If this resonates with you, I’m asking you to be part of it.
A few meaningful ways to give:
- $35 for the 35 years Tiffany had and the many more she should have had
- $96 for her birthday, September 6
- $218 in honor of February 18, the day we lost her
Any amount makes a real impact. Every dollar moves us closer to a cure and closer to giving families more time.
Thank you for taking a moment to be part of her story and helping write a different ending for others.
