As a parent we all want to see our kids be happy remain healthy and live long free lives! For those of us who have children with CF our goals change plans change and life as we know it changes like the wind. I know my goals change daily and with every cough sneeze snore fever and painstaking cry i have to stop and work my check list, is this cough wet dry is it happening all day is it just the one. Does his snoring change if we move positions did he stop breathing for a second is he getting enough air. Is his fever due to allergies is it a virus moving in is it bacteria do i need to have him seen. These are just small things we have to think about and check constantly. We have a go bag packed and ready at all times for trips to the er/drs with clothes toys meds and i like to keep a printed/laminated meds list in it aswell. This is just some of the small feats we have to endure daily. Thankfully with the help of the community and companies everyday we are moving twards a common goal of curing cf! Jacksons is lucky to be able to receive modulars and it is night and day since we started them a year ago! so i ask anyone and everyone to help us make CF STAND FOR CURE FOUND! support our journey and help raise awareness!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I'm walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
