My cousins, Ted and Cheryl's granddaughter Maddie, was diagnosed with CF. As a mother, I am horrified that there is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis, and too many people with CF die way too young. Our family walks to help change that reality and ensure that Maddie and all people with CF live long lives.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure. Our Maddie has been on Trikafta since she was 2, and we are already seeing improvement in her lung and pancreatic function, which is truly a miracle!
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people living with this dire disease. We desperately need a cure to ensure everyone with CF has a better chance of living a long, healthy life. Please consider helping us end cystic fibrosis and make CF stand for CURE FOUND!
